Ridiculous Fishing EX is a free-to-download arcade title for mobile developed by Vlambeer. It's the follow-up to the first universally-acclaimed Ridiculous Fishing game. This sequel comes with an all-new 3D artwork that was built from scratch, while still featuring the same casual yet frantic gameplay that fans know and love.

Compared to the first Ridiculous Fishing - A Tale of Redemption game, Ridiculous Fishing EX marks a new but seamless transition from the charming pixel art of the original to the 3D polygonal graphics of this new one. There's also exclusive content and additional modes for new and returning players.

The first Ridiculous Fishing - A Tale of Redemption game came out to universal acclaim garnering high praises from reviewers and gamers alike for its charming art style and absurdly fun gameplay. It had players coming back for more and was ideal for pick-up-and-play sessions on the go. A decade since its release, and here comes a follow-up in the form of Ridiculous Fishing EX.

Ridiculous Fishing EX is a successor and a remaster of sorts. On one hand, it boasts the same addicting and rewarding gameplay loop, now with a more modern take on the visuals. On the other, it brings a New Game Plus and Competitive Mode for daily, weekly, and monthly challenges to take on. Track your achievements and compete against others in the global leaderboard called Pro Fishing Tour.

Additionally, there's a new in-game parody social media feed called BikBok which will give long-time fans a good chuckle. With all of that being said, though, some player will be shocked and possibly displeased with the fact that this game is exclusive to Apple Arcade. This means a subscription is pretty much a necessity in order to play and keep playing it.

One minor caveat

For fans of the original game, Ridiculous Fishing EX comes as a nice surprise, bringing the classic titles up to modern standards with a new art style and more content to boot. The fact that it's exclusive to Apple Arcade will be a con for some, but if you're willing to pony up for the subscription, this remastered version is well worth it. Highly recommended.
